We are a full service veterinary clinic serving Central Minnesota.

If your pet is hurt, or you know it is just not acting like itself, don't hesitate to come visit us! Pets like newborns, can't vocalize or tell you what's wrong.

Dr. Gerds has been caring for Minnesota companion animals for 16 years. She knows a thing or two about what may be causing your pet's distress and she certainly knows how to identify proper and appropriate treatment plans given the symptoms.

It takes blood work, advanced diagnostic capability and experience to help determine the causes of your pet's distress. From there she can formulate a proper treatment plan to help make your pet feel better.

We help you understand your pet's condition. We will present you with treatment options and help you decide how you want to proceed with your pet's health care. We will not perform any treatment you wish to decline for your pet.

If you choose, Advanced Care can present you with facts of your pet's blood chemistry work, using our advanced in-house diagnostics. Most critical diagnostic services, including blood chemistry analysis, Ultrasound, Digital X-Ray, are done on-site, right here.




We can give you your pet a CBC - A Complete Blood Chemistry profile faster than your family doctor! We can provide your pet's essential blood results while you wait!

In some cases we have to send out for tests, but we can identify and isolate most results right here.

We explain the results and let you know what are acceptable values for your companion's blood chemistry. Then we present you with options for your pet's health care treatment options. We allow you to decide on the path to follow.

And to top it off, you will expect us to provide it at a reasonable cost.

About Dr. Gerds

Dr. Pamela Gerds has 16 years of small animal veterinary experience. She is our only vet at the moment, and yes, all those years of experience are hers alone!

She is a lifelong Minnesota resident, receiving her DVM at the University of Minnesota and practicing exclusively small animal pet health care.

Dr. Gerds served  ten years in Fergus Falls as an Associate Veterinarian. In 2003 she became the Chief of Staff and partner doctor of a busy practice in Plymouth, Minnesota. This is her 1st personally owned and operated pet hospital.

She is a career long member of the American Veterinary Medical Association as well as the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association. We're new members of the Sartell Chamber of Commerce.

Our goal is to provide a relaxed experience for you and your companion animal with every visit. We are dedicated to quickly respond to you and your pet’s needs and to fully explain all treatments and procedures.

We believe in the importance of preventive health care exams to keep your pet at its best.  We offer preventive health care plans for your pet without the headaches.

We do not recommend procedures your pet does not need. We are very happy and willing to provide a second opinion in the event you believe your pet deserves it.

Dr. Gerds and our Vet Techs have the experience, capability and advanced equipment to address medical issues your pet may be experiencing.

Only the safest anesthetic agents and state of the art monitoring systems are used at Advanced Care.
