• The Gerds Herd

  Our kids are here at work with us everyday. They quietly keep tabs on us from the office (like the picture above).
• Like you, all our staff also have pets. We've put together a team of friendly knowledgeable people to help you and Dr. Gerds take the best care of your pet possible. Most of these people have worked with Dr. Gerds for years.
  

• Scout

  

  Here is Scout pictured on the end of Scout Drive in Sartell near the round barn in 2009 when we were "scouting" locations for the pet hospital.

• Scout is 12 years old now in 2012 and the senior dog in the herd. Dr. Gerds has had him since birth when one of her clients in Fergus had offered her one of the puppies.

• Scout got his name because he just loves walking around and Scouting out the territory. He can entertain himself for hours and he always finds his way home when we're up at the farm.
• When we found Scout Drive, we knew we had found the right location.

• Biwabik

  

  Biwabik is the next oldest in our herd, she was rescued about 4 years ago. I asked Dr. Gerds to be on the lookout for a new friend to keep Scout company after his buddy Trevor passed.

• A few months later in comes this little Yorkie Poo on her way to the Humane Society. She was found near a boat ramp and Dr. Gerds knew she found a new home. She is named after the little MN town near the Iron Range and means "Valuable" in Ojibway.

Susie

Susie is the newest addition to our herd. She came to Dr. Gerds and Tom via the Tri-County Humane Society who asked us to spay her and provide a dental after she was rescued in a 2010 puppy mill bust.

Dr. Gerds wanted her skin to clear up so we fostered her until she was better. Despite being pronounced "carrier defensive," she got along with Scout and Biwabik famously.
