About Our "Library"

The topics here have been reviewed and/or completely rewritten by a real world veterinarian, Dr. Gerds.

We will not upload any content here that has not been read and reviewed by her. Frankly there is a lot of excellent content on the web and a lot of dangerous content as well.

Fact or Opinion?

While you are surfing for pet care information keep one thing in mind, evaluate the source.

Is the information from a site which is advertising supported? What kinds of ads do you see? Is it someone's opinion? Can you trust this person or source? Is it fact? What evidence is available to validate a claim?

We are adding topics as time permits. Progress has been slow but we are plugging away at it. It's one of our "pet" projects.

We don't use an outside web site agency, we design and administer our web site here at Advanced Care Pet Hospital in Sartell. Your pet care dollars are spent to improve our service to you, we don't sent them to some outstate third party web company. This helps keep our overhead costs reasonable which has a positive effect for you and and the community.

Online pet pharmacies claim to have the same medicine you purchase from Advanced Care Pet Hospital, however...

Products carried by online pharmacies often are not coming direct from the manufacturer. Ours do.

We can assure that the products you purchase here are handled and labeled in accordance with manufacturers guidelines, are not expired and are what the label says.

How The Gray Market Works

Many products sold by online pet pharmacies are purchased from veterinarians in what is described as "the gray market." These vets operate outside proper channels. Often instead of disposing of old, "overstock" or expired product properly they will resell it to online pharmacies.

Some very well known online pet pharmacies have been caught and fined for relabeling pharmaceuticals, selling expired product, and redirecting product from Asia and Europe to increase profit.

This occurs locally. In 2010, a well known veterinarian just north of St. Cloud MN recently was featured in veterinary industry news reselling on the gray Market.

At Advanced Care Pet Hospital you receive a 100% manufacturer guarantee. Product sold from online pharmacies cannot offer this. Many online pharmacies offer warranties but they can't match the one we can. They only cover what they have predetermined is the "customary cost" of treatment.
